Trainer Ride

I don’t have much time between work and school, but I got a quick ride in today.

Elapsed Time: 00:34:48
Max Speed: 24.6mph
Average Speed: 15.2mph
Distance: 8.84 miles

Best…Week….Evar!

This week, I rode 51.86 miles. Looking back over the logs, that looks like the most I’ve ever done.

Woo Hoo!

I hope we actually get a winter this year… I keep debating taking off the studs and putting the slicks back on the commuter. Of course, the second I do that, it will snow like hell.

Another Trainer Ride

I rigged up the trainer in front of my computer, and setup the DVD player so I have something to watch while I’m spinning. I watched the 1st half of Star Wars ep IV. tonight. Greedo still shoots first… :-(Elapsed Time: 00:46:09
Max Speed: 23.0mph
Average Speed: 14.3mph
Distance: 11.01 miles

Half way Commute

The weather channel said it was going to be in the mid 30s this morning, so I dressed fairly lightly. A bit too lightly as it turned out. Even with all my pit-zips zipped shut, by the time I hit the half-way mark I was freezing, so I bailed out and went directly to the office. That figure-8 route is very handy.

Ride in:

Elapsed Time: 00:29:22
Max Speed: 29.1mph
Average Speed: 10.6mph
Distance: 5.22 miles

If I’m feeling ambitious, maybe I’ll take the long way home to make up the miles.

Ride home:

I wasn’t feeling ambitious. There’s either something wrong with me or something wrong with my bike, because it felt like pedaling though molasses today; both ways. It’s probably me, I haven’t been sleeping much lately 🙁

Elapsed Time: 00:19:50
Max Speed: 18.2mph
Average Speed: 8.3mph
Distance: 2.76 miles

Baby Steps

wlbilljg has stated that if I ride the distance of his morning commute before work, he will state publicly that I am the man. His commute is roughly 40miles. I think this will make a good intermediate goal on my way to 100 miles.

Trainer Ride

I didn’t feel like dealing with the traffic and the freezing rain (at least not both at the same time).

Elapsed Time: 00:40:44
Max Speed: 20.9mph
Average Speed: 14.7mph
Distance: 10.03 miles

Back in the Saddle

I lowered the saddle on the Lemond. It made a bigger difference than I thought. It hadn’t occured to me that, since the seat tube is on an angle, moving the seat up and down also moves it forward and back. The b.17 sits higher from the rails than the stock Bontrager saddle, so I was too far up, and too far back. I am hoping that’s all there was to my back (and hand) pain.

Elapsed Time: 00:50:50
Max Speed: 22.4mph
Average Speed: 15.1mph
Distance: 12.83 miles

While I rode, I watched more Star Trek, Charlie X this time.

My new bike is still in the shop… when I called to ask about it, they said I should have it back Monday.

1st Commute of 2005

Took a slightly shortened version of my figure-8 . I’m really liking the new jacket. The wierd double pit-zips make temperature regulation really easy. I didn’t get too sweaty and it was like 40F today.

Elapsed Time: 00:52:24
Max Speed: 30.1mph
Average Speed: 11.1mph
Distance: 9.72 miles

Ride Home:

Rain! In January!
My new jacket seems to be waterproof..as promised. I also installed my manly-ass “Jaws” Pedals the other day, and now my hiking boots don’t slip off the pedals in the rain like they used to.
Hoorah!

Elapsed Time: 00:19:49
Max Speed: 20.9mph
Average Speed: 8.4mph
Distance: 2.76 miles

19 Weeks

I didn’t ride at all this week.

On the plus side, this is the first year in recent memory that I don’ t have to have “quit smoking” as a new year’s resolution.
